Successful companies start with brand strategy, but that is quickly followed by designing the visual identity for the organization. While it’s not the most important part of brand strategy, it is the most seen and often recognized part of any brand. Therefore, we take logo design very seriously and focus on your core brand strategy as we do so.
We understand that no two organizations are the same. That’s why we’ve built our logo design process to be adjustable and scalable. From small business projects where we’re working one-on-one to large organizations where we’re working with an entire department, our process is designed to seamlessly deliver results.
Not matching the visual appearance of a brand to its voice is perhaps the most overlooked part of logo design. We’ve seen beautiful logos created for all kinds of businesses that simply don’t match the overall brand message. This can be jarring to an audience. We make this a key point of our discovery process in order to make sure this mistake is avoided at all costs.
If everyone likes what we create, we haven’t done our job right. You read that correctly. In order to stand out, you need to break some rules and be different. If you don’t, you will simply fade into the murky pool of competition. We start with a simple idea as a base, sprinkle in some ambiguity, toss in some broken rules, shake it up with some boldness, and design with true individualism in mind.
While the scale and scope of a logo project can vary greatly, we focus on a core process that we’ve found can guarantee results. And while it’s hard to measure the effectiveness of a new or updated logo, it is absolutely essential to do so. We take great care in and understand the responsibility of designing the face of an organization. To put it simply, logo design is our love language.
How an organization communicates with its audience is how it differentiates itself from the market. It is the foundation of a brand. Therefore, we don’t ask for you to give us ideas or provide examples. Instead, we match the visual to the tone in which you speak with your audience.
Whether we design a logo or build/overhaul a brand strategy, we do our research first. We look at your audience, competition, market trends, current styles, and best practices. We roll all of that into a coherent standard that all of our design and strategy will follow.
Using the research and findings from our brand discovery, we will design three truly unique concepts. Our logos are designed from scratch with a craftsman’s approach.
From the concept designs, we will discuss and whittle it down to one concept that may be a combination of elements of the first three or another unique concept. Then, we will create three more iterations that are closer in relationship with one another but still different. We’ll refine those iterations until all parties are completely satisfied with the design.
Once a design has been settled upon, we create multiple versions to be used in various scenarios. Paired with the final logos, we create a brand standard sheet that outlines correct usage, color codes, versions of the logo, and typography selection that best pairs with the new visual style.
Just when you think we might be done, we start to measure. We employ a variety of research techniques to try to understand the market acceptance and reaction to new or updated brand appearances.
